     Michael Moore Film Festival

The Tree House spent an evening enjoying films and television clips from the renowned director and writer Michael Moore.  Michael is a social satirist who relentlessly pursues the corrupt and hypocritical Americans that are so common to our daily lives.  He is the Director of such films as The Big One, Roger & Me, and TV Nation.  Click here for pictures of the event.  For more information on Michael visit www.michaelmoore.com

         Highway Cleanup

In an attempt to keep our city clean and promote the Tree House, we have adopted two miles of highway on state rt. 23.  This project makes The Tree House and our environmental concerns visible to Ohio Wesleyan and the city as well.

     Trick-or-Treat Street

An annual tradition at OWU is to decorate the SLUs for Halloween.  This year Brynna organized the event, and we decorated our house as the Haunted Forest. Click here for pictures of the event.

     Environmental Outreach

       at Carlisle Elementary

We spent an afternoon educating local school children about recycling and how to be stewards of the earth.

     Planned Parenthood Speaker

The earth's carrying capacity is under increasing stress from its sheer number of inhabitants. Nearly eighty million people are added to the world population every year, by 2025, the world population, at current rates, will elevate to 8.6 billion.  As members of The Tree House we feel that it is pertinent to educate the campus about population growth.

        Advisor Dinner

The Tree House held its second annual advisor dinner with our advisors and with the university administration. The dinner is put on as an effort to increase dialogue with the university and with our neighbors.  Thanks to Suki the dinner was a huge success and we look forward to doing it again next year.

       Veggie Thanksgiving

It has become a tradition at The Tree House to fix a thanksgiving meal for campus vegetarians.  This years program, put on by Alison and Nolan, was a huge success and more people were at the house than ever before.  Click here for pictures of the event.

     Recycling Tour

Jen took us on a tour of the local Delaware recycling plant.  We were like kids in a candy shop.  The Tree House got to see cans and bottles being crushed, and we learned all of the ins and outs of the recycling program.
